"For far too long the voice of the silent majority has gone unheard in the Cornwall Council Planning office, we can change that..."

What is RAIID?

RAIID, Residents Against Insidious and Inappropriate Developments, are a group of residents, who were fed up with the constant stress and pressure we suffer by over development, and in particular the planned inappropriate schemes in Carbis Bay and St Ives. Like several others we are concerned in the complete breakdown of the democratic process, in the local planning system which is heavily and unfairly loaded in favour of the applicant. Residents in their local communities have often experienced and felt let down by the flawed planning process that if all statutory arguments fail, the applicants hide behind their 'opaque'      viability assessment which is confidential and the local community are not allowed access to. This is due to it being confidential and sensitive to the applicant's business dealings?

As residents, we want to be able to enjoy the tranquil and relaxed feel of our neighbourhoods, but this is not considered relevant to the powers that decide these things. So, we continue to support and help organise a co-ordinated campaign against these ridiculous planning applications but will require your support. Failure to act, will no doubt culminate in large developments on our back door and all the upheaval, noise and make no mistake, inconvenience this will cause. Culminating in a greater strain on our already stretched services and schools, not to mention the additional pressure on our already inadequate roads and lanes.

We are not NIMBYs but are without doubt, and proud to be called NAIOBYs...

(Not Again In Our Back Yards)

If you agree with us, think we should fight these plans and save our community, then please join us...
